Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born on September 5, 1973 is an American actress. McGowan made her debut film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakout role came in the film horror Scream in the year 1996. Her next film was the film Jawbreaker (1999) as well as Devil in the Flesh (2000). In the decade 2000, McGowan became known to the public via her role as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film Grindhouse (2006) that in which she received the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in the year 2018. The album was followed up by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was dubbed one of the Silence Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. The award honors McGowan's work in the field of sexual harassment and sexual assault especially with regards to Harvey Weinstein cases of sexual assault as well as the Me Too movement. In 2018, she published Brave the memoir of her life, and also appeared in Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
