Naomi Watts

Watts, born 28 September 1968, is a British actress. Her film debut was in
Australia in For Love Alone (1986) and was followed by three TV series: Hey
Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting
(1991). Watts relocated to America in 2000. Her first experience was a struggle
as an actor. In fact she only managed to get small roles in films prior to
becoming a aspiring actress in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological
thriller. Her rise to international fame was triggered by this part. Watts was
then cast as a depressed journalist in the film adaptation of The Ring (2002).
Because of her performance as grieving mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams,
she was nominated to win an Academy Award for Best Actress. She continued to
climb the ranks of the spotlight with her parts in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and
King Kong (2005) as in Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009).
Watts received nominations for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her
performance in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the decade of 2010
she was a part of such films as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While We're
Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts kept her acting
career going through major roles in blockbusters, including Divergent
(2015-2016).
