Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actor, director actress, musician, and actor who has directed a number of episodes of TV that include The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012), among others. Milena served as the Co-EP/Producing Director of Dick Wolf’s CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently attached to two pilots. Milena was one of eight filmmakers who were selected by AFI's highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable was her TV show and short film. Starring Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort, it won the Best Episodic Award at Seattle International Film Festival as well as the Best Pilot award at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film Temporary (2017 directed by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the nation. It won the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given out at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has appeared in more than 100 shows of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She also appeared on the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) and was the catalyst for her role as the initial and the only female detective on the Emmy-winning TV series Law & Order (1990). She has also been featured or reprised on a variety of other shows: K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as in the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena also appeared in several movies like Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She has also appeared on stage with Method Man. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of high school. She then completed her double major in vocal performance and pre-med with minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma, as well as graduating valedictorian. Then, she used her ballet education to take part on Broadway in the show starring Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes 'Cabaret' in Studio 54.
