Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actor and singer who are both of Irish descent. The passionate, fiery role she played in various American films is what brought attention to the green-eyed beauty. Her natural beauty and glamour was highly praised and she was popularly known as the 'Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her characters onscreen reflected her own strong, courageous spirit who was fighting for recognition and survival in the male-dominated society. She was referred to as the "tough Irish girl" and did not sacrifice her fame or respect to get the roles she earned on merit. Throughout her career in the field of film she was always vocal against discrimination and unfair treatment against women actors and for this, she gained a lot of followers. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", released in 2004, gave a candid review of her life , including the struggles she faced in her climb to success. She was an adventurous person who did not hesitate to carrying out her own stunts. She appeared in more than 60 films, and was a popular celebrity across the globe. Moving on from Parra, she remarried again in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past, former chief pilot, and an early pioneer in transatlantic air travel, to mention just a few of her accomplishments. O'Hara retired after few years of marriage. Blair was tragically killed in an airplane crash in 1978, bringing an end to O'Hara's joy. In the same year she was also diagnosed as suffering from uterine cancer and required to undergo an immediate operation. She eventually recovered. The health of her declined over the years and she was diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six short-term memory loss and diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara aged 95, quietly passed away in Boise on the 24th October of 2015.

Alexandra Rose Raisman, born May 25, 1994, is an American retired artistic gymnast. She has also been a two-time Olympian.
